FATHERSON - MINE FOR ME

RELEASE DETAILS

A Modern Way Recordings is pleased to announce its first full-length release, 'I Am An Island' the debut album from Scottish alternative rock band Fatherson.

Out on Monday 7th April 2014, the much-anticipated debut contains exactly the kind of propulsive, anthemic indie-rock that their fans have come to expect from the band. Entitled I Am an Island, the album is a reflection on the feelings of isolation lead singer and songwriter Ross Leighton believes to be common to us all: “For me it’s about being busy all the time and thinking that you’re always seeing everyone, but you’re not, really.”

The album is Fatherson truly embracing the fact that they are often complimented more for their live sound than their recordings. These tracks have been recorded live, some even in one take, and although other aspects are more polished it has hammered out recordings which are, for the first time, truly representative of them.

The band have been making a name for themselves in Scotland for some time now - selling out their last Glasgow show, over 500 people singing every word. And that infectious support has pulled them out above their peers, cultivating a dedication amongst their fanbase, and winning them support from some of the country’s leading music publications and radio outlets such as BBC Radio 1, XFM, BBC Radio Scotland, Rock Sound, Clash and The List Magazine.

They’ve also toured relentlessly over the past 18 months, playing dates across the UK with the likes of Frightened Rabbit and Lonely The Brave as well as numerous headline dates. They have also taken in some of the country's biggest festivals including an opening slot on the main stage of Rockness Festival, T in the Park, Brighton's Great Escape, Stag & Dagger, Belladrum and Heb Celt on the Isle of Lewis. To support the album release, Fatherson will tour the UK in late April, including headline dates at the Barfly, London and The Arches, Glasgow.
