Edinburgh-based alternative hip-hop band Stanley Odd return with their third studio album ‘A Thing Brand New’, due for release on Monday 10th November.
From social commentary, to personal stories, ‘A Thing Brand New’ is a collection of songs - words and music graphically interlaced in ultra high definition. This album is Stanley Odd at their most organic and evolved; comfortable in the awkwardness of their own skins.
The record follows up from the band’s second album ‘Reject’, which was shortlisted for a 2012 Scottish Album of the Year.
Since then, Stanley Odd have continued to tour heavily, taking in some of their biggest shows to date including a string of US dates with The View and numerous festival slots including Wickerman, Belladrum, Insider, Greenbelt and Celtic Connections.
To accompany the release of ‘A Thing Brand New’, Stanley Odd will embark on a headline UK tour, as well as selected Autumn festival appearances including Malawi’s Lake of Stars Festival, which was named the ‘world’s most spectacular music festival’ by the Guardian.
Pre-order is from iTunes or physical copies on CD or heavy-weight vinyl and you’ll get an immediate download of ‘Pastime’ from the album.
